Janine Coveney
Principal Writer Janine Coveney, is a multi-media content creator, writer and editor. Her resume includes editing posts at United Stations Radio Networks and Launch/Yahoo!, Billboard R&B Airplay Monitor, Billboard (R&B Editor 1989-1993), Essence, and Scholastic Inc. She has also served as West Coast publicity director for Perspective/A&M and product manager for Arista Records. From 2013 to 2016 she was the content & communications manager for the advocacy division of The Recording Academy (The GRAMMYs).
Janine’s essays appear in the award-winning anthologies "Ain't But A Few Of Us: Black Music Writers Tell Their Story" (2022, Duke University Press) and "Women Behind The Mic: Curators of Pop Culture Vol. One" (2023, Renewing Your Mind Ink/Peace In The Storm Publishing, LLC). Her film fandom led her to host the monthly podcast "The Words On Flicks Show" since 2019.
A native of The Bronx, New York, Janine is a graduate of Simmons University in Boston and holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Antioch University-Los Angeles. She also earned a certificate from the Bill Cosby/Guy Alexander Hanks Screenwriting Program at the University of Southern California.
